Arroyo Toad
These toads are relatively small, ranging any where from 2-3 inches in length. They are usually an olive green or brown. Their undersides are usually white, sometimes speckled with black dots. While adult Arroyo Toads are nocturnal and burrow during the day, new born and young toads are diurnal, burrowing during during the night. Their diet consists many different insects, mainly the common black ant. These creatures are endangered due to other species invading their habitats of choice, sandy riverbanks and forested areas.
